Has anyone else been obsessed with those Insta story templates lately, you know, the ones where you answer ‘this or that’ type questions or list multiple favourites? Well, I have – particularly those by @thesundaychapter who is the Insta story template queen – and my love for those little get to know me screen shots has prompted me to put together a bit of a get to know me type post because believe it or not there is more to me than being a self-confessed fashion addict. I’m assuming that you lot are just as nosey as I am, and I for one can’t get enough of watching people’s Insta stories – particularly those that delve a little deeper in to people’s lives offline. And by delve a little deeper I mean I want to know whether you prefer sweet or savoury and what your favourite Netflix documentary is!
So grab a coffee and a slice of cake (chocolate for me please) and get to know me a bit better! Here goes…
Favourite TV Programme
Let’s start off easy, my favourite TV programme without a shadow of a doubt is Impractical Jokers. I don’t have time for much TV so whenever I do – usually whilst eating tea – it’s always Impractical Jokers that fills our screen!
I don’t think I can choose between pizza or pasta, it’s one of life’s impossible questions so I’ll keep it simple and stick to ‘Italian’ – that way I can have both, right?
Favourite High Street Store
This one changes on a monthly basis depending on what’s in store at the time, but right now (and probably for over 50% of the time) it’s Zara. It’s got the perfect mix of cool, quirky, classic and chic which fits so well with my personal style, and it never fails to deliver on good quality basics. Closely followed by Topshop and H&M of course!
Norwich, duh. But no seriously, the best city I’ve ever visited has to be Copenhagen. I went about this time last year with a group of my Uni pals and I honestly had one of the best days of my life there; consisting of a canal tour, a visit to Freetown Christiania, copious amounts of street food and ending the day playing board games at the ‘Bastard Café’. I never wanted that day to end.
Favourite Subject in School
Psychology because I was good at it and I’m SO interested in anything to do with behaviour and the mind, why we act a certain way and think certain things. I went on to study it an university, although I think Business would have been more beneficial to me now.
It’s an oldie but a goodie (and a cheapy, bonus!); Next Paradise. I’ve spoken about this before but it was the first perfume I ever owned and now I find the smell so nostalgic, I can’t get enough! I wish they would stop changing the packaging though, I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve made a trip to Next to restock and had a mild panic because I thought it had been discontinued.
Indian. I feel like you either come from a family of Chinese takeaway lovers, or a family of Indian takeaway lovers; we always had Chinese when I was growing up and I probably only had my first Indian at uni but I’m converted! Worst takeaway = Fish and Chips for sure, such a waste of a naughty meal.
YES. I feel like a get more fearful the older I get.
I’m particularly scared of flying which seemed to develop whilst I was in Thailand so flying home was interesting. I would never let it stop me travelling, but I will be that person on the plane with my eyes closed, fingers in ears, breathing very VERY heavily for most of the flight. I’m not great on trains or coaches either which also started in Thailand after an overnight sleeper coach I was on crashed. Also horses, I’m not keen on horses. I could go on…
One Annoying Habit
Well if Sascha were answering this question he would probably say ‘having a full-on conversation with the cats every morning’ or ‘saying we need to be ready by one time and then changing it to 30 mins earlier and moaning because he’s not ready’, so I’ll go with one of those.
Always In My Bag
Hand cream because dry hands are the worst!
I hope you enjoyed getting to know me a bit better – let me know if you have any other questions you’d like answered, I’d be more than happy to answer them over on my Instagram, or pop me an email.
A quick note on the outfit because if you’ve stopped by purely for outfit inspo that’s perfectly fine by me; this gingham check shirt is an old New Look number which I wore to death when I got it a few years back but I’ve recently reignited my love for it and it’s quickly become one of my everyday outfit staples. The H&M pleather trousers you’ve seen numerous times before both on zee blog and over on my Instagram, but I think they are the perfect alternative to jeans when you want something a bit more put together.
