Recently I was very kindly invited along to try the new Personal Stylist service at Topshop Norwich which was a real treat and the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon. I was very much a personal shopping virgin before now, but I’ve always loved the idea of someone dressing me in the most up to date fashion that suits both my style and my body.
There are a few different appointment types to suit what you’re after. I went for the Wardrobe Refresh to get a complete autumn overhaul and add some much needed statement pieces to my already overflowing wardrobe.
My lovely stylist Rachel certainly knew her stuff!
The appointment lasted around two hours and was without a doubt the most worthwhile two hours in terms of exploring and updating my personal style. To start off we looked through everything Rachel had picked out for me and then we headed out to the shop floor to add more essentials to the rail before the changing room marathon commenced.
Rachel encouraged me to pick out things I would normally walk past and suggested some great combinations and layering tricks I would never have tried myself, which is why I think everyone should experience a personal stylist session! What’s more the service is completely free with no obligation to buy so give it a go, even if it’s just for that all important outfit inspiration!
I ended up leaving with way more than I intended to, but hey when you blog about fashion you have somewhat of an excuse to buy new clothes right?
This check pinafore dress was another of my favourite picks, and perfect for layering around this time of year. It’s very ‘Cher from Clueless’ which I love! I like to stock up on pieces like this because it is the type of outfit you don’t need to think too hard about, it looks great and works all year round – no fuss fashion at its best.
My trusty Zara boots tie this 90’s look together. Rachel had picked out a very similar pair for me to try during the session which I begrudgingly left behind because the sensible in me said that two pairs of very similar boots was a bit excessive. The frivolous side of me didn’t agree, but sensible won this time!
So why not treat yourself to a bit of self-indulgence this festive season with Topshop’s new Personal Stylist service and let me know how you get on, and more importantly what you bought. I’ll definitely be going back next time I find myself in a fashion rut!
