Hi, hello, I feel like I haven’t posted on here in agessss but since the new year is very nearly upon us I thought it was about time to dust off the laptop (mild panic as I thought I’d lost it, only to be found covered by mountains of Christmas chocolate I’m yet to make my way through despite my best efforts!) and bust out some words. Don’t worry this is no ‘new year, new me’ resolutions for 2019, just a good old sparkly outfit idea to wear whilst singing Auld Lang Syne and seeing in the New Year, prompted entirely by the arrival of this pretty extra Joanie Clothing sparkly sequin number.
But before we get in to that, I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Mine was utterly fab but over way too quickly as usual and I’m pretty sure I’m still in a cheese coma now (not that I’m complaining!). Now we’re in that weird limbo period where no one knows what day it is or what time it is or what to eat other than chocolate and left over turkey.
I’m such a sucker for Christmas that I tend to overlook all of the hype surrounding New Year. We have the same plans every year which are to spend it with Uni friends eating and drinking and playing games, so sparkly NYE outfits aren’t really an essential for me (we’re usually in our comfys by 9pm!) BUT that doesn’t mean I can’t look, right?!
I’m not usually a sequin kind of gal, and it’s so easy to get carried away with the NYE glam – especially if you’re going out out – but I guess if you can’t wear sequins at NY then when can ya hey! This is the only pencil skirt I own since I’m usually in a mini or floaty midi, but it’s so so comfy I think I might be converted (I actually wore this outfit on Boxing Day and ate a full on Christmas dinner, buffet and copious amounts of cheese no problem at all – any one else judge their clothing by how much they can eat whilst wearing it?!). But the best thing about this sequin number is that you can pair it with a good ole’ comfy jumper if you don’t want to go too OTT, making it one hell of a lot more wearable than you first might assume!
I’ve been admiring Joanie’s jumpers for a while now (I can thank Instagram for that) and can confirm that I will be stocking up – ohhh the softness!
This knit is suuuuch good quality, it’s not overly thick so it’s great for tucking in but don’t be fooled, they’re also so so warm! If you haven’t yet browsed Joanie Clothing’s jumper selection then you really must, there are some super original slogans to choose from as well as some more quirky designs if you were after something a bit different – I’m currently eyeing up the dinosaur and rocket ones *adds to basket*!
I hope you all have the best NY whatever you are up to, and thanks for joining me in my little corner of the internet for 2018 🙂 If you want a laugh I was just reading back through my New Years Resolutions post I wrote last year (yaaaawn), apparently I wanted to ‘improve my writing skills’ (nope!), ‘improve my editing skills (definitely not, I don’t even use a proper camera now just my iPhone!) and ‘improve my posing skills’ (HA!).
Happy New Year guys xxx
