Are you sick of seeing this jumper all over Instagram? I really hope not because you’re about to get a post all about the ‘IT’ jumper of the month, which I managed to pick up in the sale (not smug at all).
Sometimes the best outfits are the most simple and monochromatic dressing does exactly that.
There are only so many ways to say I love this jumper and essentially that is what I want to get across in this post so I LOVE THIS JUMPER! I love how loud it is, I love how statement it is and I love how ‘now’ it is, but thanks to the monochrome palette it’s still rather muted. It’s a fresh take on the slogan jumper and best of all it’s insanely cosy which is of course the best type of fashion. And *side note* when I first wore this, Sash thought it said ‘dreams of soda’ all over it which I found hilarious, but quite frankly I would have still bought it even if it had.
Black denim is always a safe bet when it comes to styling monochrome, but I wanted to try something a little less predictable so opted for these frill hem trousers. I’m really enjoying experimenting with more statement styles, so the clash between the fun ‘party on top’ vibes with the more serious ‘business on the bottom’ is right up my street yet still very wearable.
There is something so effortlessly chic (god that term is so ‘fashion’ isn’t it?!) about an all black and white outfit, perfect for lazy days or those mornings when you don’t quite have enough brain capacity to decide whether that red jumper goes with those patterned culottes (and the answer’s probably not, but you know I’m going to give it a good go anyway). Shove on some black skinnies, a black roll neck, mules and a cross body and you’re perfectly on trend whatever the season.
Let me know what your favourite way to style monochrome is – black on black, white on white (I’ve attempted this before with limited success), I’d love to know!
I do need to admit defeat and start embracing colour this year, maybe my challenge for Feb/March will be to start playing around more with bolds and brights for a more colourful transition in to Spring…
