Hello you lovely lot, who’s still recovering from the food coma that is Christmas?
Me me me! As always I received way more chocolate than any human needs and I’m currently in that permanently full but can’t stop eating state. Apart from the gluttony situation, Christmas was magical as ever and I enjoyed lots of festive hours with family exchanging gifts, drinking too much and generally having fun and games. No matter how old I get Christmas will forever be my favourite time of the year.
Outfit wise I wanted to strike the perfect balance between dressy and comfort, since let’s be honest Christmas Day consists of eating and nobody wants to be doing that in a bodycon number.
I came to the realisation a few days before Christmas that I had nothing which fitted the bill – well, nothing that I wanted to wear at least – which resulted in a mad dash around Norwich to hunt something down. My first stop was Topshop since I saw online that they had a big sale on (I swear the sales start earlier every year) and it was primarily on party wear which meant I was spoilt for choice.
Let’s all take a moment to appreciate these boots.
Why does browsing always turn in to purchasing for me? I popped in to Outfit at Riverside a few days back to kill some time, saw these calling my name from the corner of my eye and next thing I know they were mine. I’m not complaining because they are oh so beautiful and if you know me well you know I’m all about pointed toe shoes, but my bank is not a happy bunny. I’m going to thoroughly enjoy switching out my plain black boots for these to add a bit of fun to dressing, which is exactly what I did here!
If your family is anything like mine there’s always a million and one different gatherings between Christmas and New Year, all of them requiring you to look like you’ve made an effort but not go too OTT, so this midi will be your festive best friend! And the best thing about it is that it’s not too in-your-face Christmassy meaning it can be reworn and restyled many a time, I might try it with a coloured high neck next or just on it’s own!
How was your Christmas? Fill me in on all of your festivities! And would you wear this dress, if so how would you style it?
